Piercing Why are body piercings much more expensive than ear piercings? We use a new set of piercing equipment for each customer. We only use jewelry of the best quality for piercing. These do not come cheap. So remember, a "cheap" piercing is not always a good piercing.
What type of metal must you wear for a new piercing? We only use grade 23 Titanium or 316L Surgical Stainless Steel. They have been certified safe for permanent implantation by international medical bodies. Your piercing will heal at a substantially faster rate with these.
Is it painful? Piercing stings, like a quick jab. Being prepared and calm is important. Eat well beforehand and bring a sugary drink with you. This will counter balance the effects of shock as most people work themselves up expecting a serious amount of pain and finding it so easy after the piercing, tend to go into shock.
How long does a piercing take to heal? Healing times will vary for each person. Many factors can affect the healing process. Generally, a good choice of metal (e.g. Titanium), good and careful aftercare, and proper personal hygiene certainly help.
What should I use to clean my piercing? We will provide you detailed advice on aftercare specific to your piercing. We recommend using Saline Solution, NOT alcohol, to clean your piercing. Disinfectants are often too strong or harsh on a healthy piercing, and sometimes cause aggravation. If you suspect you have an infection you should come and consult your piercer.
How can I prevent infection? Infections are prevented with proper care and attention to your piercing. Even the best material like Titanium can’t prevent you getting an infection if your piercing is always being aggravated or rarely cleaned.
